Council of ministers: Bedoui presents main lines of government’s activities

 Prime Minister Noureddine Bedoui presented Monday the main lines of the government’s activities and the most important decisions and measures taken since the appointment of the government.

“Since its appointment on 31 March 2019, the government held 21 government meetings, 29 inter-ministerial meetings and 1 meeting of the State’s holding Council, in which it examined and approved two draft bills relating to the amendment of the code of criminal procedure and budget regulation for 2017, as well as 48 executive decrees and 31 draft contracts by mutual agreement  for the State’s different services,” affirmed Bedoui in the Council of ministers held under the chairmanship of Head of State Abdelkader Bensalah.

“This intense activity allowed the government to examine 15 files of a great national importance, dealing notably with the good functioning of the State’s institutions, the handling of the citizens’ needs and the good preparation of main social meetings while intensifying efforts in the light of the country’s situation,” he added.  

The government’s action “was centered, first of all, on the opening of several major construction sites to optimize the efficiency of the functioning of public establishments and strengthen the credibility of public administration, notably in terms of public funds, expenditure rationalization, preservation of our reserve currency, freezing of unconventional financing operations, respect of all commitments contracted on behalf of the State.

At the economic level, the government’s efforts were centered notably on the preservation of major financial balances and the rationalization of public expenditure, through measures aimed at reducing the deficit of the balance of payments to preserve the reserve currency and rationalization of imports in the service sector, notably maritime transport, building and public works as well as technical assistance (studies), added the source.

At the social level, the government’s interest focused on the good preparation of the end-of-year exams (2018-2019), the government’s measures to make sure the exams go smoothly as well as the solidarity operation in the month of Ramadan 2019.
