Mohamed Meziane took up Tuesday, in Algiers, his duties at the head of the ministry of Communication, replacing Mohamed Laagab after the government reshuffle carried out Monday by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
During the handover ceremony, Meziane expressed his profound gratitude to the President of the Republic for entrusting him with this role during these “particular” circumstances.
He pledged to “work tirelessly to boost the national media sector, ensuring it mirrors Algeria's international standing, as well as its cultural values, its weight and its aspirations.”
For his part, Laagab congratulated the new minister of Communication, wishing him success in his duties.
