Extraordinary parliamentary session convened to hear South African President’s speech

The works of the extraordinary session of the Parliament, convened in its two Chambers to listen to the speech of the South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa, kicked off on Friday evening at the Palace of Nations, in Algiers.

The works of this session are taking place in the presence of the Speaker of the Council of the Nation (Upper House of Parliament), Salah Goudjil, the Speaker of the People’s National Assembly (Lower House of Parliament), Brahim Boughali, the State’s senior officials and the government’s members, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Algeria. 

The South African President, who is paying a State visit to Algeria at the invitation of his brother, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, is expected to deliver a speech on this occasion in which he will discuss several regional and international issues.
