President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, gathered Wednesday at the People's Palace (Algiers) in memory of late Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaïd Salah, who died Monday at the age of 79, following a heart attack.
The Head of the State recited the Fatiha of the Holy Qur'an in memory of Gaïd Salah.
The remains of late Gaïd Salah, draped with the national emblem, are on display at the People's Palace where a last tribute is paid to him.
This ceremony has been organized to allow members of the constituted bodies and citizens to pay their respects in memory of the deceased.
The late Lieutenant General Gaïd Salah will be buried Wednesday after the Dohr prayer at the Square of Martyrs, at El Alia cemetery.
