Minister of Communication, Spokesman of the Government and Interim Culture Minister, Hassan Rabehi, received Monday, in Algiers, Regional Director of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for the Maghreb region, Golda El Khoury, with whom he examined the "joint cultural projects" between Algeria and the UNESCO.
During their meeting, the two parties reviewed the separate cultural projects between Algeria and the UNESCO. Many other projects in the field of communication and information were also examined during this meeting. El-Khoury is currently visiting Algiers as part of her participation in the international meeting of the 2005 Convention for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, open from 1 to 2 October.
"Algeria attaches great importance to its relationship with the UNESCO, said Rabehi, stressing Algeria's "need for expertise from this organization to strengthen the sector of culture and preserve the cultural legacy."
