Bachir Cherif buried in Ben Aknoun cemetery

Journalist and director of the daily "La  Tribune", Hassen Bachir Cherif, died Sunday at dawn in Algiers, was buried in the afternoon at the cemetery of Ben Aknoun in Algiers.

The funeral took place in the presence of a large crowd, including the Minister of Communication, Mr. Djamel KAOUANE, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdelkader Messahel, Minister of Justice Keeper of the Seals, Tayeb Louh, Minister of Culture, Azzedine Mihoubi, Minister of Youth and Sports, El Hadi Oud Ali, as well as the Councilor for the Presidency of the Republic, Said Bouteflika, and the Councilor for the Presidency of the Republic, Kamel-Rezzag Bara.

National figures, leaders of political parties and journalists, as well as members of his family and friends also attended the funeral. Aged 66, Bachir Cherif, who was also a former journalist with the daily "El-Moudjahid", died of cardiac arrest. The deceased was responsible for communication to the Ministry of Youth and Sports (1988) and to Government (1989-1990) before joining the editorial staff of the weekly The Nation.

With other journalists, he founded the newspaper "La Tribune", which he directed to date.
